Doomed to fail

This beat was made to compete in an online beatbattle called ‘Battleflips‘. All beatmakers had to use the same sample and create something unique from it. Check out the sample to figure out how I manipulated the chops: Babs Gonzales – Lullaby of the Doomed (1958). The result is hardly recognizable. For me that’s the art of sampling in Hip-Hop.

Unfortunately this beat did not gave me the win, but I still like the vibes of this one. Maybe the title had something to do with it…Anyway enjoy listening! It’s a beat with some nice chopped samples, aggressive drums, a warm bassline and some nice piano melodies in the mid-section.
